43rd Annual Mendocino County Fair Wine Competition
August 10, 2022
Deadline to submit is August 1st – 2022
All Mendocino County appellation and sub-appellation wines are eligible. There is no limit to the number of entries.
At least 50 cases (120 gallons) of each entry must be commercially available on August 10, 2022.
Please submit four bottles of each entry.
A wine may be entered in only one category. Wines carrying varietal labels corresponding to varietal categories may not be entered in the other varietal category.
Wineries winning gold medals should be prepared to provide six bottles of the gold medal wine along with a representative to pour at the Mendocino County Fair in Boonville September 23-25th. We will work out a schedule for the Gold Medal winners to pour for at least one shift during the weekend.
1. Cabernet Sauvignon
3. Petite Sirah
4. Pinot Noir
8. Italian red varietals
9. Blended red wine
10. Other red varietals
11. Dessert red wine
12. Sparkling wine
15. Alsatian white varietals
16. Sauvignon Blanc
17. Other white varietals
18. Blended white wine
19. Late harvest white wine
20. Blush and rosé wine
21. Fortified wine
Categories may be subdivided at the discretion of the competition director.

Registration, fees and wine must be received by Monday, August 1st. Late entries will not be accepted.
The entry fee is $75 per wine.
Early Bird pricing is $60 for entries submitted before July 5, 2022.
Please make payment online; we cannot accept checks.
Four bottles of each entry are required.
Ship (or drop off) wines for delivery between between July 5th and August 1st.

We will check the wines received against the online forms and follow up if there are discrepancies.
