McNab Ridge Winery’s tasting room on Highway 101 in Hopland is a comfortable, elegant space in an updated historic building. The newly redecorated tasting room includes a dog-friendly back patio and fire pit. Here, you can sample various Mendocino County-grown and produced wines, from the McNab Ridge Family Reserve to “Fun Bunch” favorites like Zinzilla. If you’re lucky, you’ll meet a McNab dog!
Rich Parducci, the renowned winemaker crafting McNab Ridge Wines, has been inspired by his family’s generations-long history of producing excellent wines. He works alongside a small but dedicated team of experts to craft the finest possible expressions of Mendocino County’s terroir. Rich emphasizes sustainable practices to guarantee that each vintage is as honest and place-specific as possible.
Rich is known for creating delicate, balanced wines that exhibit their individual varietal characteristics while being exceptionally food-friendly. His approach to winemaking combines four generations of knowledge with modern technology and mindful stewardship of the land to capture Mendocino’s unique character in every bottle.
Rich, the grandson of Mendocino County’s legendary winemaking patriarch, John Parducci, brings a lifetime of experience, starting with working in the winery his great-grandfather Adolph Parducci founded in 1932. He remembers working on the bottling line at Parducci when he was 12.
After graduating from California State University Fresno with a degree in enology in 1992, Rich went home and began working at Parducci Winery with his grandfather as a mentor. In the 1990s, John and Rich left the winery after it changed ownership.
A year later, Rich joined his grandfather’s newly established team of experts to build upon the family legacy of winemaking excellence.
Rich and his grandfather’s team worked together to produce unique, high-quality wines. Sourcing locally grown grapes from nearby vineyards, they strived to create unforgettable bottles that continue to exceed expectations. This is a tradition that continues to this day
Rich explains, “All the grapes we use for McNab Ridge Wines come from local growers, including connections Grandpa brought with him when he joined McNab.”
