Cox Family Vineyards

Born and raised in our 1896 farmhouse, which once served as a Pony Express stop, Cox Family Vineyards has always lived the wine country lifestyle. A few years ago, we set out to tell our family story through our own wines after a history of selling our fruit to other wineries in nearby Napa, Sonoma and the Bay Area. We knew our wines would be special simply because great wines are born in the vineyards and we have such a close relationship with ours.

However, our story really begins with our Grandpa Jack Leroy Cox, who initially bought our Ukiah ranch with intensions to subdivide and re-sell. At the time, it was a sheep farm with a few acres of carignane. Ironically, he fell in love with the land and decided to make it his home ranch. It is because of Grandpa JLC that we're able to produce wines from our own fruit to tell the stories of those who came before us. We don't source from anywhere other than our backyard, which includes a number of vineyard blocks - chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, malbec, merlot, petite sirah, old vine zinfandel, old vine carignane, and cabernet sauvignon.
