Experience the Magic of the Skunk Train
Since 1885, the world-famous Skunk Train has carried passengers through towering redwoods, scenic trestles, and historic tunnels, offering breathtaking views of Mendocino County’s untouched landscapes. Today, guests can choose from a variety of unforgettable adventures departing from both Fort Bragg and Willits.
Fort Bragg Departures
The Pudding Creek Express offers a scenic ride through the redwoods, while the Glen Blair Bar provides a unique stop for drinks in a secluded forest setting. For a more active experience, the Pudding Creek Railbikes let riders pedal the historic tracks with an electric assist, and Moonlight Railbikes take guests on a starlit journey through the redwoods.
Seasonal experiences include Days of Steam, where guests ride behind a historic steam locomotive, and the Mushroom, Wine & Whiskey Train, which pairs local foraging traditions with fine wines and spirits.
Willits Departures
The Wolf Tree Turn takes passengers deep into the redwoods, offering stunning views and a journey through Tunnel #2. During the fall, the Pumpkin Express brings families to a hidden pumpkin patch, while spring welcomes the Easter Express, a festive celebration featuring egg hunts, seasonal treats, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. As the holiday season arrives, Mr. Skunk & the Giant Christmas Tree transforms the journey into a winter wonderland, complete with live music, festive treats, and a visit from Mr. Skunk himself.
With departures from both Fort Bragg and Willits, the Skunk Train offers scenic journeys, seasonal celebrations, and hands-on adventures that bring the magic of the redwoods to life.
